In the realm of music, album covers serve as the gateway to the sonic worlds crafted by artists. These visual representations encapsulate the essence and spirit of the music within, enticing listeners and setting the tone for their auditory experience. In one of my old projects, I created fictional album covers for three exceptional artists—Recondite, Rival Consoles, and French 79. Each cover tells a unique visual story, intricately woven with the emotions and themes that permeate their music.

Concept: Embracing Diversity and Individuality

The concept behind the album covers was to capture the distinctiveness of each artist's music. Through careful consideration of their musical style, themes, and aesthetics, I aimed to create visuals that would resonate with both the artists' visions and the listeners' expectations.

For Recondite's album, "Iffy," I delved into the ambivalent nature of the music. The cover design utilized black and white colors, representing the contrast and duality found in the album. A smooth, almost liquid-like shape blended with a sharp, geometric form, reflecting the intricate balance between opposing elements. The contrasting textures further emphasized the complexity and richness of the musical compositions.

Rival Consoles' album, "Persona," inspired a different approach. Drawing from the raw and organic nature of the music, I incorporated raw textures akin to manual techniques on a wall, reminiscent of graffiti. The aim was to convey a sense of naturalness and textural fidelity, mirroring the immersive and tactile experience that awaits the listener within the album's sonic landscape.

For French 79's album, "Joshua," the vibrant and synth-driven nature of the music served as the foundation for the visual concept. Inspired by the rich sounds and futuristic aesthetics of synthwave, I crafted an illustration reminiscent of a colorful light bulb. This imagery symbolized the electrifying energy and creativity inherent in the album, while paying homage to the genre it represents.
